Sherlock 2 is Macintosh-only software that enables users to search through multiple web sites at one time. For more information on Sherlock 2, please visit Apple Computer, Inc.'s web site (Note: link opens in new window).

The Pak Persian Rugs Sherlock 2 Plug-in adds our web site to the list of sites that Sherlock 2 can search. In addition, the results of a Sherlock 2 search are well integrated into our site, allowing users to easily view carpet thumbnails for the entire list of Sherlock 2 results via two simple clicks (i.e. 1. Click on any of the results in Sherlock 2's results pane and 2. Click on the Search Results link within the page that loads).

The software is designed as a plug-in for Sherlock 2 and may not work correctly with earlier or later versions of Sherlock.

Note: Instructions can also be found within the ReadMe.txt file, contained within the Stuffit archive.

1. Download and unstuff the item "ppr_sherlock.sit". Aladdin Systems™ Stuffit Expander is required for this step (Note: link opens in new window).

2. If it is currently running, quit Sherlock 2.

3. Open the folder ":users:<your_user_name>:library:internet search sites:shopping", found at the root level of your startup disk. (Note: Be sure to substitute your user name in place of "<your_user_name>" in the folder path above.)

If your machine has multiple users, you may want make the plug-in available to them. To do this repeat step 3 for each user, substituting their user names for "<your_user_name>" above (Note: This requires administrator access to the computer).

4. Drag the item "pakpersianrugs.src" (located in the newly unstuffed folder) to the folder you opened in step 3.

5. Launch Sherlock and click on the shopping icon (depicted as a shopping cart).

6. Once the pane opens, uncheck all items except the "Pak Persian Rugs" Internet Search Site.

7. Type your search criteria at the top of the pane and press the search button.

Tip: For information on how to specify different search criteria, click on the Pak Persian Rugs icon in the Internet Search Sites Pane.

Tip: Click the "Search Results" link (towards the top right hand side of our web pages) to view thumbnails of carpets that matched all of your search criteria.
